Barqueiros is a Portuguese parish of the municipality of Mesão Frio.
The village was known as Land of the Sailors of the Douro River. The men of this land devoted themselves almost exclusively to the work of transporting the Douro wine below, towards the cellars of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia.
But not only seamen lives the story of Barqueiros. Until the transport of the wines in the boats Rabelo, there has been a whole agricultural year of works on the cliffs that, in natural amphitheater, run in vineyards from the top of the mountains to the edge of the Douro.
